How does your recipe within the Australian guide to healthy eating?
My recipe fits within the Australian guide to healthy eating as it contains lots of vegetables such as broccoli and carrots, which can help improve the development of your bones and keep your eyes healthy. In addition, my recipe also fits within the guide as it contains steak. Steak is especially important as it contains lots of protein, which is beneficial for growing muscle.
How did you help during the cooking process?
Because this was my first time cooking steak, I needed assistance. Fortunately, my mother gave up her time to help me learn how to marinate and cook steak. For a majority of the time, I was responsible for cooking the steak, while my mother helped me with cutting the vegetables. This was a very fun experience, that is why I would like to cook steak again at home.

How does the role of the media impact Australian consumers?
Media impacts Australian consumers as they can cause people to make certain beliefs of different products. For example, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people have started to post videos or images of themselves eating healthy meals. As of a result, this has influenced other people to also eat vegetables and healthy food products. But of course, this is entirely correct and should be encouraged on many different types of social media platforms. Lots of nutrients is especially important for our immune system in this time of the year.
COVID-19 has made a big impact on the accessibility of food products, did you find this when shopping for ingredients?
Yes, I certainly did. I remember that every time I went to the shops to help my mother with the groceries, I always noticed that there was a huge shortage of canned goods and pasta. From this, I could infer that lots of people were buying this type of food in order to save up for the coming weeks. Because of this shortage, it has been really difficult for my mother and I to find food that lasts long. That is why instead of buying groceries from the shops, my mother and I have started to use the fruits and vegetables that we rarely use at our backyard. This has helped us save money and stop us from going outside too often.
Rating:
4/5
Overall, I really liked the outcome of this dish. Although cutting the vegetables and marinating the steak was a long process, my meal was very delicious. The steak was quite juicy and the vegetables were crunchy and healthy. Because of this, I believe I will use this dish for other dinners as well!
